She got another special award years before while being in medical school. She was awarded with the NYU President’s Award for Volunteerism and Community Service as the Founder and Director of the NYU School of Medicine African Medical Textbook Project, which helped to deliver more than 20.000 medicine books to more than 15 medical school libraries in countries like Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Liberia, and Zimbabwe.
